Guatemala

Guatemala

I know it is where I went on my mission, and guys not being able to get over their missions is annoying to everyone else. But for the past two years or so I have been feeling a crazy strange pull to reacquaint myself with the country of Guatemala. A few visits is probably all it will ever be, but we took the whole family, and my mom and sister with us this fall. It was a great experience and we got to see a lot of cool areas in just under two weeks.

We rented a 15 passenger van to get us around with lots of space for the luggage. Here are a few shots of the family as we rode along the windy highways of northern Guatemala.

We visited an old friend of mine named Noemi Posada. She fed us lunch in her home and it was delicious. She has a beautiful home.

We went to Peten and stayed on the island of Flores. We stayed at a really cool Hostel run by a Dutch guy that is called “Los Amigos“.

From there we visited Tikal which is the largest known site of excavated ruins in the Americas.

From there we went and spent a few days on the Rio Dulce. We stayed two nights at a cute little hostel with only four rooms called the Round House. Chris and Dany run the place. This was Nicole’s favourite place we stayed on the trip.
